Director’s Message


Mr. Joey Parrish is thrilled to serve as the Director of Lake Eola Charter.  Mr. Parrish is a native of Virginia where he served in Public Education for 24 years before relocating to Central Florida.  He has served as a Middle School Chorus Teacher, a High School Chorus Director, Assistant Principal at all levels and served in a Central Office role.  In addition to his career in Public Education, Mr. Parrish also served as a Minister of Music for 20 plus years.  Mr. Parrish holds a Bachelor of Music in Education from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia and his Masters in Educational Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. During his time as a Choral Director, Mr. Parrish’s choirs earned the highest marks in local, state and national competitions, including being awarded first place in the prestigious Festival Disney assessment.  As a school leader, he has been at the forefront of technology usage in schools and has provided workshops around the state of Virginia on “Working Smarter, not Harder” to administrators.  He served as the President of the Chesapeake Association of Public School Administrators from 2015-2021.  He lives now in Central Florida with his wife Dawn and three children, Kelly, Connor and Colby. Mr. Parrish shared, “One of the things that drew me to LECS was the passion and excitement that I saw first hand in the teachers and staff when we first met. They share the same passion for teaching and learning that I have, and I love how they continue to look for ways to help our students grow as critical thinkers. I am excited to help LECS continue to grow while still respecting our Traditions and Roots that have made us who we are today”.
