Board of Directors

Members of the Lake Eola Charter School Board of Directors shall include:

○ One LECS faculty member (advisory position),
○ Two community members,
○ One parent of a student at LECS,
○ Two business leaders in the community, and
○ The Director of Lake Eola Charter School (advisory position).

The Board of Directors of Lake Eola Charter School shall have control and jurisdiction over the affairs and property of the Corporation, subject to the Articles of Incorporation and the By-Laws of the school. Paid teachers, support staff and the Director shall work for and under the supervision of the corporation and its Board of Directors.

The Board is also responsible for assisting in preserving the Charter School Mission and general plan, and the final approval for the hiring of instructors and staff and the preparation of the school’s annual budget (as required by Florida statute s.229.555).

In addition, the Board agrees to participate in the Special Magistrate Process (as required by Florida Statue 1001.42) and that information can be found here.

The Board keeps a general agenda for each meeting and has approved a list of schoolwide policies. Minutes from its previous meetings are also available, as is a schedule of upcoming meetings.
